## NY RESTORE Program (Up to $50,000)

The NY RESTORE (Residential Emergency Services to Offer Home Repairs to the Elderly) program provides grants of up to $50,000 for emergency home repairs and accessibility modifications for low-income seniors (age 60+) in New York State. Bathroom modifications including grab bars, curbless showers, and non-slip flooring are eligible expenses.

## Nassau County Office for the Aging (OFA)

## VA HISA Grant (Up to $6,800)

The VA Home Improvements and Structural Alterations (HISA) grant provides up to $6,800 for veterans with service-connected disabilities and up to $2,000 for veterans with non-service-connected disabilities. Eligible modifications include grab bars, curbless showers, and non-slip flooring.

## Medicare Advantage Supplemental Benefits

Traditional Medicare (Parts A and B) does not cover bathroom modifications. However, many Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans cover grab bar installation, non-slip flooring, and other accessibility modifications as supplemental benefits. Coverage varies by plan.

## HUD Title I Home Improvement Loans

HUD Title I loans provide low-interest financing for home improvements including accessibility modifications. Loans up to $7,500 are unsecured (no home equity required). Loans up to $25,000 are available with home equity.
